Social Media Consultation Framework
New Client Discovery Interview
A complete intake guide to extract your client's zone of genius, build their brand story, and create their first three viral social posts.
1
Warm Welcome & Intent Setting
~5 min · Build rapport before the deep work
Opening Script
- Welcome them — explain the session goal: "By the end of today I'll have everything I need to build your content presence, craft your podcast episode, and write your first batch of social posts."
- Let them know they'll be recorded (podcast + notes) and ask permission.
- Reassure: "There are no wrong answers. I want your real voice, not a polished version."
2
The Founder Story
~15 min · Origin, mission, and what makes them different
Background & Origin
- Tell me who you are and what you do — in your own words, not the "professional" version.
- What did your life look like before you started this work?
- Was there a specific moment — a rock bottom, a breakthrough, a conversation — that made you say "I have to do this"?
- What did you try before finding what works? What failed?
Zone of Genius Extraction
- What do people always come to YOU for — the thing you could talk about for hours without getting tired?
- What do you know that most people in your industry get wrong?
- What transformation have you personally gone through that now makes you uniquely qualified to help others?
- If you could only teach one thing forever, what would it be?
Podcast Gold
These answers are your podcast intro and "about me" reel. Push for specifics — numbers, dates, feelings. "A lot of clients" → "How many? What were their results?"
3
Ideal Client Profile
~10 min · Who they serve and who they don't
Client Identity
- Who is your absolute favorite type of client to work with — describe them like a real person, not a demographic.
- What is going on in their life or business RIGHT NOW that makes them search for someone like you?
- What have they already tried that hasn't worked?
- What are they afraid people will think if they don't solve this problem?
- What does their life look like 90 days after working with you?
Anti-Audience (just as important)
- Who is NOT a good fit? What type of client drains you?
- What's the one thing your ideal client believes that the wrong client doesn't?
4
Offerings & Monetization
~10 min · What they sell and how they want to grow
Current Offerings
- Walk me through everything you currently offer — programs, services, digital products, memberships, courses.
- What's your flagship offer and what does it include?
- What price point are you at, and where do you want to go?
- What's been your best-selling offer and WHY do you think it resonates?
Monetization Goals
- What revenue number would make you feel like social media is "working"?
- Do you want high-ticket 1:1, a scalable program, passive income — or all three?
- What offer do you WISH people bought more of?
- Is there something you haven't launched yet that you're sitting on?
5
Bio, Brand Voice & Inspiration
~10 min · Build their content identity
Bio Building Blocks
- What's your current bio — share it with me as-is (read it aloud if this is recorded).
- What title or label do you use for yourself — and does it feel right?
- What three words would your best clients use to describe working with you?
- What personal detail — family, location, hobby, fun fact — do you want woven into your brand?
- What credential, result, or proof point do you NEVER want to leave out?
Voice & Tone
- How do you naturally speak — casual and conversational, or more polished and authoritative?
- Are there words or phrases you use all the time that feel very "you"?
- What tone do you want to avoid — what feels OFF-brand?
- Are there topics you're passionate about that feel slightly "edgy" or polarizing?
Accounts They Love
- Name 3–5 accounts you follow and actually look forward to seeing — inside OR outside your niche.
- For each one: what is it about them that you love? Is it how they write, what they talk about, the energy they have?
- Is there an account you admire but would never want to be like — and why?
- Which platform feels most natural for you right now — and where does your ideal client actually hang out?
6
The 3 Viral Post Framework
~15 min · Build the content foundation that stops the scroll
What to Extract for All Three Posts
- What is the #1 thing you want someone to FEEL after seeing your content?
- What's a controversial opinion you have about your industry that most people disagree with?
- What's the most common mistake your ideal client makes — and what does it cost them?
- What result have you (or a client) achieved that sounds almost unbelievable but is 100% real?
- What's something people assume about your work that is completely wrong?
Content Creation Note
Record their exact words when answering these — the best captions come from how they speak naturally, not how you'd rewrite it. The goal is to sound like them, amplified.
7
Logistics & Program Customization
~5 min · Set expectations and design the engagement
Working Together
- How involved do you want to be in the content process — hands-on collaboration or mostly hands-off?
- How often do you want content reviewed before it goes live?
- What platforms are we posting on and how many times per week?
- Are there any topics, clients, or stories that are OFF LIMITS?
- Do you have existing content (blogs, emails, talks, reels) we can repurpose?
- What does success look like for you in 30, 60, and 90 days?
